WasteAid is a UK-based NGO working with communities and policy-makers in low and middle-income countries to implement waste management and recycling programmes. WasteAid’s vision is a world where waste causes no harm, and people in poverty are empowered to recover its value. Their work improves the livelihoods of some of the poorest and most marginalised, supports grassroots entrepreneurs, and promotes circular economy innovation to reduce waste, contributing to a cleaner and healthier future for people and the planet.
Established in 2015, WasteAid continues developing and implementing their award-winning toolkit and projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, India and Southeast Asia. The positive impact on people and planet is plain to see, and WasteAid have been able to treble in size as more funders recognise this impact. By providing training and support to entrepreneurs working in the waste space, their programmes focus on turning waste into an economic opportunity for some of the most marginalised members of society.
WasteAid currently has projects in South Africa, Uganda, Sudan, The Gambia, and India.
