Dr Adam Read has been External Affairs Director at SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK for almost 5 years after a successful career in academia, local government and most notably consultancy, dating back some 25 years. He is Chair of the ESA Resources & Waste Strategy Working Group, and a Trustee of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management for whom he is their 105th President. For the last 3 years he has been facilitating much of SUEZ’s work with the UK Government on the development of the new English Resources & Waste Strategy and associated consultations on extended producer responsibility, deposit return systems and consistent collections, whilst acting as lead author on many of the SUEZ evidence submissions. He has also worked with numerous local authorities on modelling, mapping and assessing policy reforms and likely impacts on materials flows, composition and service provision. He is a regular speaker, author, blogger and social media enthusiast, who loves chairing webinars.
